What is Raast?

Raast is Pakistan’s first instant payment system that will enable end-to-end digital payments among individuals, businesses and government entities instantaneously. The state-of-the-art Pakistan’s Faster Payment System will be used to settle small-value retail payments in real time while at the same time provide a cheap and universal access to all players in the financial industry including banks and fintechs. How do I register on RAAST?

• Select RAAST under the Navigational Menu from your BML Mobile App
• On RAAST Tab Select Alias Management
• Then Select Register Alias
• Select Mobile Number via Drop Down
• Select Mobile Number
• Enter OTP.
• Your Mobile Number has now been registered as Alias.

How Can I transact using Raast?

• On RAAST Tab Select RAAST Payment
• On RAAST Tab Select Alias Management
• On top Right select IBAN or Alias Toggle
• Enter IBAN or Alias Number
• Enter Amount
• Review Payment
• Enter OTP.
• Payment has been Successful

How is RAAST different from existing IBFT?

With Raast, you don’t need to have a customer account number for receiving payments. You can receive money from anywhere across Pakistan on your Raast registered mobile number in real time.

Can I create more than 1 alias?

Currently, a customer can have only 1 registered mobile number associated with the bank account.

Which types of transactions can I avail through the RAAST platform?

For the time being only Person-to-Person (P2P) Inter Bank Funds Transfer (IBFT)

What is the transaction processing time trough RAAST platform?

Payments being processed through RAAST are being processed in real time. Customers can send & receive payment instantly

What is a RAAST alias?

Alias means having a nick name or an alternate name to identify anything or any detail.

In case of RAAST, customers can register their mobile number as an ‘alias’ against their account details. Once your account details are registered under an alias, thereafter the customers do not need to share or remember their account number.

How many accounts can be linked in RAAST?

Currently, only one account can be linked to a RAAST alias instantly
